Nimrod International Journal is celebrating its 57th year of continuous publication and promises to last another 57 or more. Here is their pitch:

“But more important to our decision to focus on mature writers and writing is that the ‘boom’ generation (ages 48-62) and older present its own culture, a culture ‘on the edge.’ The precarious, the unsettled have always been a great source of creative energy. Those 57 and older are emerging as the ‘Golden’ generation with promise of not only living longer, healthier lives, but of expanding initial insights intowisdom, of having time and space to reach and risk beyond the humdrum.

“Rest assured, this issue will not be a sociological tract, nor a political statement. Fiction and poetry to be accepted must be vigorous, but need not be ‘about’ aging. The only requirement for submission other than quality is that the author be 57 or older.”

Submission details and manuscript formatting rules are on the publication’s website.
